Testing Services
We provide both anonymous and confidential HIV testing at the Seminole County Health Department in Sanford.
- In anonymous testing, a barcode and your date of birth are used as identifiers. Your name is never recorded on any paperwork or test.
- In confidential testing your name and date of birth will appear on your test and information sheet. Confidential testing requires that you return with a picture ID to pick up test result.
Testing Fee
- There is a $20 fee for HIV testing.
- There is a $40 fee for an HIV test result in three days.
Our Staff
A trained and certified HIV Counselor will provide testing and counseling services to you. We are bilingual in English and Spanish.
How to test?
- We also accept walk-in at the following times:
- Monday 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm
- Tuesday & Thursday 8:00 am – 11:00 am
- Wednesday (Results Only) 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm
- Friday 8:00 am – 11:00 am & 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm
- The testing procedure will take approximately 30-45 minutes to fill out paperwork, to discuss risks, ways to reduce those risks, and to draw blood.
- Blood work is sent to a state lab.
- Results come back in 3 weeks from the original appointment date.
- Results are only given in person.
If a Test is Positive
Your counselor will discuss options with you. He/she will provide you with referrals for services if you test positive.

Enter the health department through the front entrance and ask the person at the information desk for directions to Community Health.
