The Seminole County Health Department may provide routine childhood shots for children 18 years and younger.
Does your baby have all the necessary immunizations to protect against deadly diseases?
Your baby needs to follow a schedule of immunizations over the first two years of life to make sure they are protected against diseases such as:
- Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- HIB (Haemophilus influenzae Type B)
- Measles, mumps, rubella
- Polio
- Chickenpox
- Influenza
- Pneumococcal
- Rotavirus
What do immunizations do?
- Helps your baby's body produce antibodies.
- Antibodies help to keep away infections.
- Prevent against 14 serious diseases which could cause health problems and even death.
Are immunizations safe?
- Vaccines are safe.
- Mild side effects include a low grade fever or soreness where the injection was given.
- Getting immunized is MUCH safer than getting the disease.
What if I miss an appointment? Does my baby have to get the shots all over again?
- No, if your baby misses some doses, it’s not necessary to start over.
- Your provider will continue from where he or she left off.
