The Area 7 HIV/AIDS Field Office provides service to the residents of Central Florida in the following disciplines:

Title II patient care. The primary function of the Area 7 HIV/AIDS Surveillance Section is to conduct surveillance of HIV infection and AIDS in the four county area consisting of Orange, Seminole, Osceola and Brevard Counties. This goal is accomplished through working with:

  • Laboratories 
  • Medical providers in both the public and private sector 
  • Blood banks 
  • Insurance agencies and case management agencies in Central Florida. 

The end result of the surveillance efforts is population-based data that can be utilized for public health policy development and program planning and evaluation. The data can be used to describe the size and scope of the epidemic and characterizes the affected population.
