Epidemiology
All Epidemiology Program staff within the Seminole County Health Department are also members of a larger regional Epidemiology Strike Team comprised of over 50 individuals from nine local county health departments within east central Florida, and who are available for responding to public health emergencies within Florida.

The Seminole County Health Department Epidemiology Program monitors reportable diseases other than tuberculosis, sexually transmitted diseases, and HIV/AIDS. Program staff members also investigate disease outbreaks in order to identify their source, intervene to protect others who may be at risk, and identify ways to prevent additional cases.
Epidemiology staff provide disease control education and consultation for the public, physicians, veterinarians, hospitals, schools, daycares, nursing homes, animal services, and other institutions in the community.

Viral Hepatitis
The Seminole County Health Department Hepatitis Program provides free viral hepatitis testing and vaccination to people who may be at risk for the disease. The program also hosts a monthly support group. For more information, visit the Hepatitis Program Web page.
