The Seminole County Health Department monitors the operation of over 350 tanning devices in Seminole County. All tanning devices are checked twice a year to assure that the devices are
- being maintained in good sanitary and mechanical condition,
- timers are operating properly,
- employees are properly trained,
- and warning signs are in place.
Every device must have the manufacturers recommendations attached to the machine or available on premises.
Operator must also have information concerning their liability insurance.
Tanning devices are regulated under Florida Administrative Code 64E-17.
