Welcome to The Florida Department of Health in Seminole County's Website

Dr. Swannie Jett The Center for Disease Control has identified Six Winnable Battles in Public Health. The Six Winnable Battles include: 1) Hospital Associated Infections, 2) HIV/AIDS, 3) Motor Vehicles Injuries, 4) Obesity/Nutrition/ Physical Activity, 5) Pregnancy and 6) Tobacco. Currently, we are ranked 4th in the state out of 67 counties according to the County Health Rankings. But, we are losing ground in obesity, nutrition, physical activity, adult smoking, alcohol use, and physical environments (includes access to recreational facilities). The first step includes community partners collaborating with the health department in Seminole County to protect, promote and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county and community efforts. We can achieve greater heights by working together for the common goal...To be the Healthiest State in the Nation.
